Process a refund

Refunding a member is quick, and NestPoint records every one so your books and your funder reports stay honest. How the money moves depends on how it came in — a card refund and a cash refund work a little differently.

Find the payment

Refunds happen where the payment lives. Open the class session's Payments tab, the rental booking, the trip, or the meal sign-up, find the member's payment row, and choose Refund.

Card payments go back through Stripe

If it was paid by card, the refund runs back through Stripe to the original card on its own. You confirm with Issue refund, and the money lands on their statement within about 5 to 10 business days. There's nothing to hand back at the desk.

Cash and checks you return yourself

For cash or a check, NestPoint can't move the money for you. Record refund writes the refund into the ledger for your records, and you return the cash or void the check yourself. The dialog says as much, so there's no confusion about who's handing the money back.

Full or partial

The Refund amount starts filled in with the full payment — lower it to give back only part. A Reason is required, and it's what makes the refund easy to explain months later. You can't refund more than was paid.
