Getting started

Sign up and set up your workspace

Setting up a NestPoint workspace takes about five minutes, and almost none of it is permanent. You create your account, a short wizard walks you through the essentials, and you land in a workspace that already works — with a checklist waiting for anything you chose to skip.

Create your account

Sign up with your name, work email, and a password. That first account is the workspace's founding admin, so it can reach every setting while you get things going. You can add other people and set their access later.

The setup wizard

Right after you sign up, a short wizard opens. Every step but one can be skipped — safe defaults fill in, and you can change them whenever you like. A progress bar runs across the top, and Skip for now sits on any step that's optional.

Foundations: name, address, and time zone

The first steps set the things the rest of the workspace leans on.

Workspace name
The name your team sees in the app header, on emails, and in the member portal. Easy to change later.
Permanent web address
Your workspace's address — something like yourname.nestpoint.org. You confirm it with a checkbox because, unlike the name, this one can't be changed after setup.
Centers and time zone
Your center's time zone decides when every check-in, appointment, and report lands. Most organizations start with one center and add more only if they run multiple locations.

Shape the workspace

The next steps tailor NestPoint to how you actually work. None of them are required — skip any and move on.

How emails sign off
The sender name and reply-to address members see on messages from your team. Skip it and mail signs off as your workspace name.
What kind of place this is
Pick the closest fit — senior center, community center, recreation center, or nonprofit. This seeds a sensible starting order for your tools; it never turns modules on or off.
Your tools, in order
Drag the modules you use most to the top so they lead your navigation. Members stays pinned at the top — it's the spine everything else hangs off.
How members are described
Turn on the details you track — date of birth, phone, emergency contact — and add your own custom fields. You can set your default member levels here too.

Bring your people in

The last real step is your roster. Point NestPoint at a spreadsheet and it imports your members, so you're not starting from an empty list. No file ready? Skip it — your roster stays empty and you can import any time from Imports. For the full walkthrough, see Bring your members in: CSV import.

You're all set — then Finish setup

The wizard ends on a short finishing step and hands you your workspace. From there, the Finish setup page keeps a running checklist of anything you skipped, grouped into Foundations, Your members, and Your team. Each card links straight to the right setting.

One item there is worth doing first: Confirm your time zone. It's the only required follow-up, because it shapes every date and time across the workspace. The rest — email identity, custom fields, member levels, importing, inviting your team — you can tackle whenever you're ready, or set aside for now.

Two good next steps: decide who can do what in Configure roles and permissions, and walk through a real opening in Your first day on NestPoint.
