Audit log: finding when something changed
When you need to know who changed something and when — a member archived, a booking cancelled, a role changed — the audit history has the answer. It records the important actions across your workspace with the person and the time attached, so you're never guessing.
Where to find it
Open Workspace management and go to Audit History under Data & system. It's an admin-only view — if you don't see it, an admin on your team can pull the record for you.
Reading a row
Each entry is laid out in plain language across a few columns:
- Actor
- Who did it — a staff member's name, or “System” when NestPoint did it automatically.
- Action
- What happened, in readable terms like “Member archived” or “Rental booking cancelled.”
- Entity
- Which record it happened to — the type and its ID.
- Message and When
- A short summary when there is one, and the timestamp. Click any row to open the full detail.
Narrowing it down
Pick an Action or Entity to see just that kind of event.
For example, filter to cancelled bookings, or to everything that touched members.
Add an Actor to see one person's activity.
Set the From and To dates to focus on a window.
The log opens on the last year; set the dates to look further back than that.
What it does and doesn't tell you
The log tells you that an action happened, who did it, and when — that's what it's built for. It doesn't keep a before-and-after of every field, and it doesn't record someone simply opening or reading a record; only real changes are logged. So it answers “who cancelled this and when” far better than “what exactly was the old phone number.”
