Common questions

Quick answers to the things people ask most about this part of NestPoint.

  • Does each provider set their own hours, or does an admin?

An admin sets availability for each provider on the Availability tab — painting weekly hours and adding overrides for time off or extra days. Providers don't manage their own calendars here.

  • Can members book their own appointments?

Yes, once you turn on portal booking and mark a type as bookable from the member portal. You decide whether their request lands as Pending for staff to confirm, or is accepted automatically.

  • What is an appointment type, and why set one up?

A type is a service someone can book — an intake, a consultation — and it defines how long it runs, whether it's in person, by phone, or virtual, which providers offer it, and whether members can book it themselves. It's the template every booking starts from.

  • What do the appointment statuses mean?

Pending is booked but not yet confirmed; Confirmed is locked onto the schedule; Completed happened; Cancelled was called off; and No-show means the member didn't come.

  • How is this different from Activities?

Appointments is one-to-one time with a provider in an open slot — Calendly-style scheduling. Activities is for group classes and programs. If you're booking a person's calendar rather than filling a class, you want Appointments.
