Create appointment types

An appointment type is a service someone can book — an intake, a check-in, a consultation. It sets how long the appointment runs, how it's held, and who can be booked for it.

Where types live

Appointment types, providers, and availability all live on the Setup page. Open Appointments and go to Setup to reach them.

Create a type

  1. On Setup, open the Types tab and press New type.

  2. Give it a Name, and add a Description (optional) if it helps.

  3. Set the Duration (min) and Capacity.

Capacity is the number of concurrent bookings per slot — usually 1. A higher number lets several people book the same slot, like a small group session.

  4. Pick a Mode: In person, Phone, or Virtual.

In person reveals a Location (optional) field for a room or address. Phone and Virtual reveal a Default meeting link (optional).

Offer extra lengths (optional)

Booking length options (optional) lets bookers pick a longer or shorter slot. Type a number of minutes and press Add length. The Duration (min) above is always offered too.

Add buffers (optional)

Buffer before (min) and Buffer after (min) hold time around each appointment, so back-to-back bookings leave room to reset.

Choose who can be booked

Under Providers, turn on the people who offer this type. Leaving all of them off means every provider can be booked for it.

Save it

Keep Active on so the type can be booked, then save. You'll see Type created. Untick Active later to retire a type without deleting it.
