Common questions
Quick answers to the things people ask most about this part of NestPoint.
What's the difference between a group and an activity?
A group is a standing roster — a named list of people, like a club or a regular crowd. An activity is a scheduled class or program. You check a group in and track its attendance, but the group itself is just the list of who belongs.
What happens when I make a group inactive or archive it?
An inactive group stays in the database but drops out of front-desk pickers and reports — good for a group you've paused. Archiving retires it further while keeping its roster history, and you can reactivate it whenever you need it back.
Does adding someone to a group check them in?
No. The roster is just the list of who's in the group. Checking people in is a separate step — use the group's Check in button to take the whole roster to the front desk at once.
Where do I see how often a group shows up?
Open the group and look at its Attendance tab. Alongside Overview and Roster, it shows how the group has been turning out over time.
Can I check a whole group in at once?
Yes. The Check in button on a group's page sends the entire roster to the front desk together, so you're not checking people in one at a time.
