Common questions
Quick answers to the things people ask most about this part of NestPoint.
Do we need Stripe connected to take payments?
No. Cash, check, and manually entered payments work with or without Stripe. Connecting Stripe adds real card payments: online in the member portal, by payment link, keyed in by staff, or tapped on a card reader.
Can I record a payment or a refund on the Revenue page?
No. Revenue is a read-only view. You take payments and issue refunds inside the module the charge came from, whether that is a rental, a trip, an activity, or a meal. Revenue then shows the result.
What does the Outstanding view show?
It shows what is still owed across rentals, trips, activities, and meals, as it stands right now. It is a place to see the picture. You settle each balance back in the module it belongs to.
I see a payment in the list. How do I refund or change it?
Open the transaction to jump to the record in the module it came from. That's where a refund or change happens; Revenue then shows the updated result.
Does every checkout in the activity view count as money received?
No. Only completed checkouts are revenue. Ones still in progress, expired, or failed are shown so you can see what happened, but they aren't money you collected.
