Merge duplicate members

When the same person ends up with two records, merging folds one into the other so their check-ins, notes, and badges all live in one place.

How duplicates happen

The new-member form warns you with Possible duplicate(s) in this workspace when someone matches an existing member, so most duplicates are caught before they're created. When one slips through, merging cleans it up.

Merge two records

  1. Open the record you want to fold away — the one that will be removed — and choose Merge from its overflow menu.

  2. Under Find the target member to keep, search by name, email, phone, or external ID and pick the record to keep.

  3. Optionally add a reason, tick I confirm this merge, and press Merge members.

If the merge is blocked

If some detail can't be combined automatically, the merge stops with a message instead of guessing. Fix the conflicting detail on one of the records, then run the merge again.
