Add a member to the directory
New people join all the time. You can create a record from the directory with just a first and last name, and fill in the rest whenever you have it.
Open the new-member form
Press New member at the top of the directory.
A wide panel slides in from the side.
Fill in the sections
Only the name is required. The rest is grouped into sections you can complete now or later.
- Identity
- First name and Last name are required. Date of birth and External ID (a workspace-scoped ID that must be unique) are optional.
- Contact
- Email and Phone.
- Address
- Street, city, state, and postal code.
- Demographics
- Optional fields that stay blank until you fill them. They power funder and accountability reporting, such as the Older Americans Act. Leave them blank when unknown.
- Notes
- A Profile notes box for free-form notes that travel with the record.
Handle a possible duplicate
If the details match someone already in your workspace, the form shows Possible duplicate(s) in this workspace before you save. Check the existing record first.
If it really is a different person, tick I understand I'm creating a duplicate and the button becomes Create anyway. If it's the same person, cancel and — if there are already two records — see Merge duplicate members.
Save the member
Press Create member. The footer reminds you that First and last name are required to start. A confirmation reads Created {name}. when it saves.
