Add a new member at the desk
When someone visits for the first time, you can create their record without leaving the desk. All it takes to start is a first and last name — everything else can wait.
Open the new-member form
Press New member on the result card, or add a member from the directory. A panel slides in from the side labeled New member.
Fill in what you have
The form is grouped into sections. Only the name is required — fill in the rest now or later.
- Identity
- First name and Last name are required. Date of birth and External ID are optional.
- Contact
- Email and Phone, if they'll share them.
- Address
- Street, city, state, and postal code.
- Demographics
- Optional fields that default to Not collected. They power funder and accountability reporting, such as the Older Americans Act. Leave them alone if you don't collect them.
- Notes
- A Profile notes box for anything the desk should know.
Watch for a duplicate
If the name matches someone already in your workspace, the form shows Possible duplicate(s) in this workspace before you save. This keeps you from creating a second record for a member who already exists.
Use Open profile to check the existing record.
If it's the same person, close the form and check them in against that record instead.
If it really is a different person, tick the confirmation box and press Create anyway.
Save the member
Press Create member. It reads Creating… for a moment, then the record exists and you can check them in. To give them a badge, see Assign or replace a badge.
