Common questions
Quick answers to the things people ask most about this part of NestPoint.
Does signing someone up for a trip arrange their ride?
No. Trips and Transportation are separate — a trip sign-up records who's going, but pickups are booked by hand in Transportation. If your group needs rides, arrange them there and keep the two lists in step.
Why would I build an itinerary?
The stops you add become a timeline on the trip's overview and its printable rosters — departure, arrival, meals, check-in times — so everyone knows the shape of the day at a glance.
If someone cancels, do I have to promote the next person myself?
No. When a confirmed member drops, the top of the waitlist moves onto the roster automatically. You can still promote or reorder people by hand when you need to override that.
What if we charged a fee but someone can't pay it?
Record a waiver to clear the charge without a payment. Every entry lands in the trip's payment ledger, so it stays traceable and you can void it later if something changes.
Do I have to approve every portal sign-up?
Only if you turn on Require staff approval for that trip. Otherwise portal sign-ups land on the roster or waitlist by capacity, just like the ones you add yourself.
