Common questions
Quick answers to the things people ask most about this part of NestPoint.
How do I make one message read like it was written to each person?
Drop in merge fields, which are placeholders like a first name that fill in for each recipient when the message goes out. You write it once, and everyone gets a note that reads as if it were meant for them. If a field has no value on file it comes out blank rather than showing the placeholder, so write lines that still read well without it.
Can I use heavy formatting or HTML in an email?
You write in markdown, so you can add headings, links, lists, and emphasis. NestPoint turns that into a simple, clean email and sends a plain-text version alongside it for anyone whose mail reader prefers one. You can't paste in your own HTML or a designed layout, which is deliberate: plain, personal messages read better and land more reliably.
When I build an audience by conditions, does the list stay current?
An audience is a set of conditions rather than a fixed list of people, so it reflects whoever matches at the moment you use it. The recipient list is settled when the send begins, so someone who joins afterward isn't pulled into a message already on its way.
What's the difference between a campaign and an automation?
A campaign is a one-off message you send now or schedule for a time. An automation runs on its own, like a welcome to new members, sending when its trigger happens without you pressing anything.
How do I know an email actually delivered?
Open the Activity view to see each send with its status and time. Anything that bounced or was reported as spam is flagged there too, so you can spot a bad address rather than wonder whether it arrived. NestPoint can tell you a message reached someone's mail provider, but not whether they opened or read it. Opens aren't tracked.
