Set up an automation
An automation is a message that sends on its own — a welcome to new members, a birthday note, a nudge to people you haven't seen in a while. You configure it once from a recipe, activate it, and it runs without a manual send.
Pick the automation goal
Open Plans, press New plan, and at the Goal step choose Automate an ongoing message.
At the Recipe step, choose the pattern this automation follows — the recipe decides its trigger and rhythm.
Configure and review
At the Configure step, set the recipe's options — its audience, template, and schedule.
At the Review step, check it over and press Save and activate, or Save as draft to finish later.
Activating asks you to confirm. Once active, the automation runs on its own on the schedule you set.
Manage it over time
An automation shows on the Plans feed with its status. Open it to Pause a running one, or start a paused one again.
- Active
- Running on schedule and sending on its own.
- Paused
- Stopped for now — no runs until you start it again.
- Attention
- A run hit trouble and the automation needs review. Sort out the cause, then use Re-activate to resume.
