Members · Badges & ID

Give each member a simple way to check in.

Connect the cards or fobs you already buy to member records, scan them at the front desk, and replace a lost one without rebuilding anything.

What it helps with

What your team can do here.

Bring your own badges

We do not print cards, and we do not sell them.

A badge here is a code, and the code comes off whatever card or fob you already buy. If your scanner can put that code in a box, it works. Tell us what cards and what scanner you have and we will say plainly whether they do.

  • Barcode and QR are what centers use today
  • No printer to buy, no proprietary card stock
  • Send us your make and model and we will check it

Assign a code

Scan the card into the member's record.

Open the member, scan the card or type the code, save. If that code is already live on somebody else, NestPoint refuses it and tells you whose it is rather than quietly moving it across. A member holds one active badge at a time.

  • Scan or type, straight from the member record
  • A code already in use is refused by name
  • One active badge per member, enforced

Lost badge

The replacement retires the old one for you.

Assign the new card and the missing one goes inactive in the same step, so there is no second screen to remember on a busy morning. Everything the member has done stays exactly where it is. If the old card turns up in a coat pocket and you put it back, it picks up the record it always had.

  • The old code deactivates when the new one is assigned
  • Programs, attendance, and payments all stay put
  • Both codes named in the activity log

Active at the door

The badge is what makes them active.

A member with a live badge is active. Take the badge away and they are inactive, and the next scan says so at the desk instead of waving them through. That is the whole rule, and it is worth knowing before you buy: there is no expiry date on a card and no grace period counting down behind it.

  • Retire the badge to close the door the same day
  • The desk sees inactive on the scan, not after the fact
  • No expiry dates and no grace periods to configure

A typical workflow

One badge, issued once, and replaced when it's lost.

The code stays attached to the member while everything else about them changes.

  1. Assign the first card. Open the member, scan the card you already bought, and save the code to their record.

  2. Scan at the desk. The card pulls up the member, and the desk sees whether they are active before saying good morning.

  3. Change the member, not the card. Tier, household, programs, and contact details all move without anyone issuing a new badge.

  4. Assign a replacement. The new card goes on the same member, and the lost one deactivates in the same step.

  5. Read it back later. The activity log names who assigned which code, and when the old one went away.
