Create an activity
An activity is the reusable template behind a class or program — its name, look, and defaults. You build it once in the Library, then schedule as many sessions of it as you like.
Activity versus session
An activity is the definition of a class — say Tuesday Morning Yoga — and a session is one occurrence of it on the calendar. The activity holds the defaults every session inherits.
Create it
On Activities, open the Library tab and press New activity.
Give it a Name, and pick a Color and Icon.
The color and icon are how the activity shows on the planner and in pickers. Leave the icon on Auto to let it choose one.
Set the Default start and Duration (min) under Defaults.
These pre-fill every new session of this activity, so you're not retyping them each time.
Set where it appears in pickers
Sort order under Organization controls where the activity sits in pickers — lower numbers appear first.
Turn on sign-ups (optional)
If members register ahead of time, tick Enable sign-ups. That opens the registration options:
- Default capacity
- How many can register. Blank means unlimited.
- Default fee (cents)
- The fee per registration, with Currency alongside it. Zero is free.
- Allow waitlist when full
- Overflow registrations queue automatically, up to an optional Default waitlist capacity.
- Require staff approval for portal sign-ups
- Portal registrations land as pending approval for staff to review.
Save it
Save the activity. A confirmation reads Activity "{name}" created. If the name's taken you'll see An activity with that name already exists in this workspace.
