Cancel or restore a booking

When a booking falls through, you cancel it and choose what happens to any balance. None of the outcomes move money. If plans change back, you can restore the booking, as long as nothing else has taken the slot.

Cancel a booking

Open the booking and start a cancellation. Pick the outcome that fits, add an optional Reason, and use Notify renter if they should hear about it. Press Cancel booking to see Booking cancelled.

Cancel only
Mark the booking cancelled. No money is moved, and any open balance stays open until staff handle it.
Cancel and waive the remaining balance
Cancel and write off what's left as a waiver, so the booking shows as paid. No money moves, and if nothing is open, nothing is written.
Cancel and retain the deposit
Cancel and record that you're keeping the deposit. No money moves: a deposit already paid stays with you, and any other open balance stays open.

Restore a cancelled booking

Press Restore booking to bring a cancelled booking back. You'll see Booking restored. Unless the slot is no longer free, when you'll see This booking was not restored. That time is now inside a blackout. or a note about overlapping bookings.
